A Letter from the 8th Year Students

As the last Link of the school year, I thought it would be fun to have the 8th year students as guest authors! Here is what they wrote:

Hello,

We’ve made it through another year, and sadly, this is our last. Our time at MSE has been the best, and we will deeply miss our teachers, recess, and the amazing trips. MSE is very special. One highlight of our time here was our mentorships. Upon reflection, we have learned amazing life skills, how to be independent, and how to learn creatively. The learning environment and culture here is like a family, and one that we will miss! Though we are excited for high school, we are also sad. It is bittersweet.

Whole Foods Grant

We’re proud to announce that MSE has been awarded a $2000 Whole Foods Foundation grant for our work in the greenhouse. With over 3,000 grant proposals submitted, we were honored to be selected for one of the Foundation’s garden grants. Thanks to Kristen Costello for her expert grant writing and her ongoing efforts in our greenhouse!

WE call it… Martial Arts Class

It’s like hiding the vitamins in a bowl of Ice cream; the kids will have so much fun they won’t even realize they are learning important life skills. They will be coached to excel in all social, academic, and athletic areas while learning self-discipline and self-defense at the same time.

Call for a free class for any student who is interested. Classes are held at our new location 28677 Buffalo Park Rd Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 and Saturdays 10:00-11:00. Parents are welcome to attend and train with their kids if they want.

Middle School Performance Night

Join the Middle School Music Elective students for their spring musical, “The WIZ,” on Friday, May 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the Gym. Our cast includes both amazing singers and hilarious acting. Don’t miss this amazing show featuring the story of the Wizard of Oz, but set in a hip urban setting with retro music that will have you tapping along to the beat. Support our MMS young actors and singers in their final performance of the year! Admission is FREE to all.
