wouldn’t be possible without our vital volunteers
or generous donors.

With a grateful heart, from Yvonne: Thanks to all of our parents for helping throughout the school year. Mary Anne Sullivan, thanks for all the ways you organized events and communicated with everyone as our room parent. Tonya Riley, thanks for helping with handwriting. Alex Kalejs, thank you for volunteering in the library. Thank you all for a special school year! The very best part of my job is your children and you! It is hard to describe how much enjoyment comes from being in the middle of this group of children. I am surrounded by learning and discovery happening at a steady pace with learning in leaps and bounds thrown in. The hum of children at work is like music (and sometimes like the insistent roar of a lion.) I am grateful for the opportunity to share this time with your children.
Julie is more than ready to guide your children in the next school year. She will stimulate their growth and care for their spirits. It has been wonderful working with Julie. Thank you, Naomi, for all your work with the children and me. Over the years I have had the best mentors and coworkers. MSE is a remarkable place for children and adults. Thank you, Bill and the administration, for all your dedication to MSE.
I would like to award my husband, Stu Bader, volunteer of the year. He has strived for many years to get this recognition and he deserves it! Thank you for being the super gluer, cardboard cutter, spray painter and determined supporter.
My cup has been filled many times over with my relationships and adventures at MSE. Thanks for adding to my experience. Keep up the good work! You will each be a part of me as I move forward.

From Michelle’s class: October was full of so many opportunities to connect with the school and the classroom. I just want to take a moment to thank all of you for taking time for the meaningful conversations at conferences and helping to guide your children through the conversations and afterwards. In addition to conferences, thank you for coming to our first Math Night, the Mile Run, Harvest Fest, participating in the meetings and surveys for the Head of School search, volunteering in the classroom or contributing to the Halloween fun on Friday. Every opportunity strengthens our community and we are all so appreciative of your efforts and time!

I hope you enjoyed our Parent’s Day. We love watching you work with your children, and they are so proud to show you what they can do.
One person that we are extremely thankful for is Nancy Benedick. She has had to miss several weeks or art lessons due to a broken arm. The children made an Edgar Degas dancer mobile to brighten up her recovery. So grateful that she is feeling better!
From Chris’ class: A very special thank you to the New York chaperones, Suzanne Gabrielle, Ryan Trigg and Amy Brooks. They worked hard to keep all the kids safe and accounted for, and I can’t thank them enough. Incidentally, they are also a highly entertaining bunch and I appreciated that they also participated in the conference activities! I want to give major credit to Amy Brooks for working so hard on the Halloween dance and haunted house. She helped the group create a script that turned out to be a huge hit of the haunted house. Karen Zucker also helped the students create the world’s creepiest dolls and other amazing props. Thank you to everyone that provided food, drinks, pizza and decorations. You all made it happen! And finally, thank you to Nicole Behrhorst and Amy Brooks for joining us on our first trip to Bessie’s Hope on Wednesday. It was amazing to see the kids step out of their comfort zone and change the day of all the residents.
