The Young Entrepreneurs Program
Montessori School of Evergreen is committed to preparing students for the 21st Century. According to new research, students will need to have the skills to gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources and collaborate effectively to use that information in real ways. To achieve these educational goals of educating students that are global smart and global ready, Montessori School of Evergreen is launching The Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP).
The Young Entrepreneurs Program is an interdisciplinary curriculum that allows middle school students the opportunity to take an original business idea to market. Using a carefully designed, integrated curriculum, students collaborate to gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources in order to create a successful product with real value. The Program offers middle school students from 6th- 8th grade the chance to think in new ways and prepare them to be global smart and global ready.
YEP is structured in a way that will allow students to reach their goals by offering them the following critical components:
- An Advisory Board composed of successful entrepreneurs to whom students report
- Faculty leaders to guide curriculum
- Mentors who are experts in relevant fields of business
- Teacher guides to foster student-decision making
- Voluntary student leaders
- True student ownership of the program
- The room to experience both success and failure
