The Admissions Process
At Montessori School of Evergreen (MSE) we educate the whole child, rooted in the renown tradition of the Montessori Method and supplemented by cutting-edge research in brain development and education. We seek students who are curious, independent, and engaged – students who embody our mission to become lifelong learners – and we graduate exceptional young people who go on to make a difference in the world.
Please see our admissions process below:
1. Online Inquiry Form
For further information, and to discuss our programs, please submit an online inquiry form. Christiane Leitinger, our Director of Enrollment Management, will contact you upon receipt of your information. You may contact Christiane directly at email@example.com or call 303-674-0093.
2. Tour of School and Parent Meeting
Tours are generally offered at 9:00am on Tuesdays, at our Troutdale Campus, and Thursdays, at our Marshdale Campus. Please contact Christiane Leitinger, 303-674-0093 to schedule a tour. During the tour we invite you to observe in our classrooms. This How to Observe guideline will prepare you to observe effectively. We value the partnership between our school and your family and we want to get to know you, as well as your child, during the admissions process.
3. Submit an Application and Record Requests
Once you have completed the inquiry form you may continue on to the application, which is also submitted electronically. Applicants for 1st grade through 8th grade require records which you can upload in the application. If you do not have your student’s records electronically, then please complete the Records Request Form and give it to your child’s current school. They will then send MSE an official copy of your child’s records.
4. Readiness Visits, Shadow Days and Assessment
When your child’s admission’s file is complete we will schedule a Readiness Visit (for children three to five years) or Shadow Days (for children six years to 8th grade) for your child. Students participating in Shadow Days will also complete an assessment with a teacher, learning specialist, or Division Head. This gives us an opportunity to evaluate your child’s academic progress to determine if MSE can meet the needs of your child. Students are assessed through DIBELS Progress Monitoring, a writing sample, math problems, observation, and an oral conversation.
After the Readiness Visit/Shadow Days the Admissions Committee carefully considers each family and student. An enrollment offer is sent electronically once the committee decides to offer enrollment. When you enroll your child at MSE, you join an extraordinary community committed to a transformational education experience for every student!
