12/12/18 Meeting: The Search Committee used some of our meeting time to conduct a final semi-finalist interview. We also reviewed reference check findings for several candidates. Semi-finalist interviews are now complete. Next week, we will finalize the agendas for finalist visits to occur in the first half of January. We are planning to send a communication to the community about the finalists in next week’s MSE Link. We will also announce the dates for community meetings with the finalists.
12/5/18 Meeting: The Search Committee discussed interviews and reviewed reference check findings for several candidates. Semi-finalist interviews will be completed next week. We will be working next on planning the finalist visits which are expected to occur in the first half of January.
11/28/18 Meeting: The Search Committee reviewed feedback from semi-finalist interviews which began on November 26th. We also reviewed several new applications that came in since our last meeting. Several will be folded into the process with first-round phone interviews this week. We set a target date for semi-finalist interviews to be completed by December 7th. We also discussed the process for background and reference checking which will begin shortly for semi-finalists who are being considered as finalists.
11/7/18 Meeting: The Search Committee finalized the Community Input presentation which provides survey results and an aggregated compilation of focus group feedback. We also approved the interview guide for our first round phone interviews. The interview guide contains interview questions that are organized around the HOS evaluation criteria derived from our survey and focus groups. The phone interviews will be conducted next week to determine our semi-finalist slate. Semi-finalist interviews are scheduled for November 26th.
11/2/18 Meeting: The Search Committee received a survey debrief from Barb Egan and reviewed comments from the Focus Groups conducted earlier in the week. Barb Egan also presented interview training. Next week, we will be finalizing HOS evaluation criteria and interview questions and also sharing the survey and Focus Group feedback with the community. We expect to begin our first round of interviews toward the end of next week to determine our semi-finalist slate.
10/26/18 Meeting: The Search Committee reviewed the timeline and activities for October and November. We reviewed community input received so far and discussed the Focus Group structure and questions for the sessions. We also reviewed the progress made since our last meeting on networking calls and emails. Next week, we will be attending interview training and consolidating the survey and focus group input for HOS evaluation criteria. We expect to begin interviewing candidates in early November to determine our semi-finalist slate.
10/17/18 Meeting: The Search Committee discussed the Board’s charge and the HOS search philosophy as well as the process and timeline. We also finalized the survey design and brainstormed about networking to source additional candidates nationally through our personal and professional networks. Next steps in October include conducting the survey and focus groups, consolidating input from the community for evaluation criteria and interviewing, and attending interview training to be provided by Barb Egan, our search consultant.
