How To Apply

Montessori School of Evergreen prepares young people for life, while keeping childhood alive, through authentic Montessori Education.

We seek families who align with the Montessori Method, value a strong partnership between school and home, and believe in preserving childhood. Our students embrace learning with joy, purpose, and rich experiences, and together we nurture confident, well-rounded children who feel prepared for life and ready to make a meaningful difference in the world.

Please see our admissions process below:

1.

Online Inquiry Form

The first step in the admissions process is to complete an online inquiry form. After receiving your submission, the school will contact you to schedule an initial virtual meet-and-greet. Following this virtual call, campus tours can be scheduled. The application link will also be shared after the initial virtual call has been completed.

2.

Virtual Call & Classroom Observations

A virtual meeting is required for all prospective families. During this one-hour call with the Director of Admissions, families will receive an overview of the Montessori Method, as well as a detailed look at MSE programming from Toddler through Middle School. This call also provides an opportunity for families to ask questions and for both the school and the family to determine if MSE is the right fit. After the virtual meeting, families are invited to tour the school and observe classrooms, and then submit an application.

3.

Application & Wait Pool

After the virtual call, families receive a link to the application form. Applicants in grades 1–8 must submit report cards, assessments from their current school (or commissioned by the family), as well as teacher recommendations from the child's current or most recent teacher. These can be uploaded directly in the application. If electronic copies aren’t available, families should complete a Records Request Form and provide it to your child’s current school. They will then send MSE an official copy of your child’s records.

Children are added to MSE’s Wait Pool only after the application and all required records are submitted. Unlike a traditional waitlist, MSE uses a Wait Pool, which means the school may consider a variety of factors when offering placements, including program fit, grade availability, classroom capacities, sibling placements, and other aspects of family and student alignment. Being in the Wait Pool means the application is complete and active but does not guarantee a spot.

4.

Assessments, Readiness Visits and Shadow Days

For Applicants to Pre-K and Kindergarten: For Pre-K applicants, a Readiness Visit is a 30 minute meeting with our teachers to assess the developmental readiness of the child and for the child to visit the classroom. For Kindergarten applicants, a Readiness Visit is a three hour visit to the classroom to spend time in our Kinder Community.

For Applicants Grades 1-6:

MSE will accept the results from any testing that an applicant has completed within the last year, such as the CogAT, WISC, DAS, MAP, ERB, CCRA, among others. There is no need for the applicant to take more than one test, and the Admissions Committee does not prefer one test over another. When your child’s admission’s file is complete we will schedule Shadow Days (for grades 1st through 6th) for your child. Shadow Days are two consecutive six hour visits (two days), so the student can get to know our school, and so we can get to know the student.

For Applicants Grades 7 and 8:

Families are required to submit results from standardized testing or educational evaluation that the student has completed in the last year. Examples include the WISC, DAS, CogAT, Stanford Binet, MAP testing, ERB, CCRA, among others. There is no need for the applicant to take more than one test, and the Admission Committee does not prefer one test over another.

  • If the applicant does not have recent testing, you may register them for WISC or DAS testing with an evaluator from the DATC (Denver Area Testing Consortium). Please contact Admissions to request assistance if the fee is a hardship.
  • For 7th and 8th Grade applicants, MSE's application includes specific questions for the applicant to answer as well.
  • When your child’s admission’s file is complete we will schedule Shadow Days (for grades 7th and 8th) for your child. Shadow Days are two consecutive six hour visits (two days), so the student can get to know our school, and so we can get to know the student.

5.

Enrollment

After the Readiness Visit/Shadow Days the Admissions Committee carefully considers each family and student. An enrollment offer is sent electronically once the committee decides to offer enrollment.

“We felt strongly about our toddler starting his education with a Montessori base. We couldn't be more thrilled with his first year in toddler care - his teachers were loving and compassionate and we feel have helped him thrive. Watching the evolution of his vocabulary, confidence, and independence is amazing. The families have been lovely as well. We look forward to moving into primary."
