Cora Kemp

Toddler Lead Teacher and Program Coordinator

B.A. in Journalism Communications – Metropolitan State University. American Montessori Society Toddler Teaching Credential Montessori Education Center of the Rockies. Alumna of MSE.

I am not exaggerating when I say that MSE is who I am. I have been working as a guide at MSE for the last 11 years, but my roots go deeper. MSE is a part of my family, I grew up through the program, as a student and as a “staff kid” and it continues to be a large part of my life, and I would not have it any other way. From the life-long friendships I’ve created here, both as a child and an adult, this community feeds my soul and encourages my own personal growth. In my time at MSE I have worked at several levels and specialist positions until I found my true calling and passion in guiding our youngest students.

I spent my adolescence debating on teaching, or pursuing my other passion of Photography (which was introduced to me through the MSE elective program). I got my degree in Photojournalism and upon graduation I started my own photography business. But I was missing the teaching interaction and was grateful to accept a part-time position at MSE the year after I graduated. I continued with my life-long learning and received my American Montessori teaching credential in 2019 for the Infant and Toddler level. I have loved experiencing life alongside these amazing children who never fail to teach me more than I guide them. My student’s are known as the Intrepid Toddlers of Troutdale and it fits. We explore, we get dirty, we dance when everyone is watching and we ignite the spark of life to anyone that comes into our community for a minute or for years. I support the development of some of the most kind, adventurous, and welcoming children you will meet.
